First Photography Project!

Yesterday, I set up a blog purely for any photographs I take and want to share, and any photographs that inspire me. I found that this website made my photographs look well presented and loved the way I could post a series of photos together in a style that I think is easy to look at. This week, we have been focussing on 3D and photography, so I thought now was a good time to let you know that my first project on my photography blog (darcyjgrant.carbonmade.com) has been posted!

In this project, we were asked to play around with a DSLR camera and tripod. Maddie (madisonfordx.wordpress.com) and I decided to have a bit of fun in front of the camera. Here we worked on focussing and blurring an image, to gain contrast in our work.

Artist Of The Day #4

Multimedia collage artist

Jenya Vyguvoz is a 21 year old, Russian artist. I discovered his beautiful work, when looking for inspiration for my digital collage as I was intrigued by his talent of putting together fashion, nature and photography using mixed media skills. I love the variety in his work using different composition, tone and colour, creating very different collages.

I also love the way one can see his collage experimentation, for example: you can see he has experimented with the ‘smudge’ tool in Photoshop in the pictures above. One can can also see the way he has altered the levels of transparency in this collage to reveal the different layers, creating a pop-art fashion collage. (Below).

His work is experimental and has variety making his collages unique and diverse. I would love to incorporate fashion and nature into my collage- he has inspired me greatly!
